Relics

Items and ability details for every relic in Reliquified Ars Nouveau.

Cloak of Concealment The relic bearer's mana condenses into a thin protective shroud, separating the body from an enemy strike. Its flow spreads through the folds of mana-weave and extinguishes the threat before it can touch flesh. As long as the bearer has enough mana, incoming damage dissolves into the protective shroud, consuming only part of their reserve.
Flaming Bracer The heat within the ancient plates responds to the relic bearer's movements, bursting from the arm in flashes of magical flame. Fire erupts at the moment of impact, binds the struck target, and ignites directly beneath it, forcing the enemy to remain where the flames will do the most harm.
Staff of the Spectral Walker The relic bearer briefly slips from the world's familiar layer, leaving the body as only an unsteady ghost of form. Whether stone, wood, or metal, an obstacle loses its density and lets the bearer pass through like a shadow through smoke.
Quantum Bubble Space near the relic bearer condenses into fragile bubbles, snatching incoming projectiles from their path. Anything caught inside freezes in a motionless distortion and remains there until the shell is destroyed. Even at invisible speed, the projectile never reaches its target: the bubble holds it in a frozen instant, preventing its motion from completing.
Emblem of Defense The recorded spell remains within a defensive circuit until the relic bearer comes under attack. At the instant of danger, the runes release it on their own, directing magic at the attacker before the owner can even register the threat.
Emblem of Assault The recorded spell remains within an offensive circuit until the relic bearer lands a precise strike. At the instant of impact, the runes release it on their own, directing magic into the struck target before the weapon swing can finish.
Mana Ring The relic bearer's inner reserve expands, allowing them to hold more mana and regain lost power faster.
Archmage Glove A cast spell does not always vanish at once: part of its structure catches on the glove's threads and lingers within them for a brief moment. An instant later, the stored form folds back together, as if the spell had been cast once more.
Whirlisprig Petals A light vortex of petals catches the relic bearer's movements, helping them sharply lift off the ground and maintain balance in the air.
Spiked Cloak A heavy blow awakens living spikes within the relic's fabric, sending them flying from the bearer in every direction. Each released shard digs into a target, wounding it and hindering its movement.
Horn of the Wild Hunter The horn's drawn-out call spreads through the air and sets spectral wolves, bound to the relic bearer's will, on the trail. They appear near their master, leap at their enemies, and continue tearing into prey without fear or wounds.
Wing of the Wild Stalker The air catches the relic bearer and lets them fly briefly like with elytra. The flight quickly turns into descent, but gives enough time to reposition, escape pursuit, or strike a target from above.
Whirling Broom The air beneath the broom's bristles condenses into a stable support, allowing the relic bearer to maneuver freely above the ground and stay airborne. Its height is limited, but sufficient to glide confidently over the surface, bypass obstacles, and maintain control.
Ring of Thrift The relic bearer's arcane flow becomes steadier, losing less power with each cast spell. Part of the spent mana does not disperse without a trace, but lingers in the conductive circuit, waiting to return a few moments later.
Ballistarian Bracer As soon as a projectile leaves a bowstring, palm, or enchanted staff, an arcane trail follows it, giving birth to phantom copies. They follow the main shot and increase its power, turning a single projectile into a short spectral volley.
Ring of Last Will A fatal strike leaves a trace of a moment within the relic, one that can still be rewound. Instead of dying, the relic bearer returns a few seconds into the past, to a point where their body had not yet fallen.
Illusionist's Mantle An incoming strike splits into a false image, leaving a new target beside the attacker for doubt and error. Illusions draw attention away from the relic bearer's true body, disrupting enemies' choice of target. The more such reflections are nearby, the harder it becomes for an enemy strike to find the right direction.
Architect's Staff Between two marked points, temporary masonry of conjured blocks is formed. It does not last long, but it is sturdy enough to bear the relic bearer's steps and connect a broken path.
Emblem of Devotion The recorded spell remains within a stable circuit, gradually forming into orbital spheres around the relic bearer. They circle nearby, holding the magic placed within them until they collide with a target.
